Wild and Woolly Wednesday

0 4

Hello Friends,

Another day kicking off with a blustery 25-35 kts of SSW wind and big SE swell. It was 5 metres out at sea, but nowhere near that big along the Dee Why and Narrabeen stretches. Apart from the tow-in hopefuls poking around off south Narrabeen when I grabbed the snaps, I didn’t see anyone in the water. Which isn’t surprising given the conditions. While I was writing the report a message popped up on my phone from Sydney Water that there was a partially treated discharge at Warriewood wastewater treatment plant at 1845 yesterday. Not to surprising, but a reminder that the water’s not clean after all the rain.

There’s a gale warning for tomorrow too, so Friday’s looking like the earliest possibility of approachable conditions. Beyond that, the weekend looks hopeful for us regular folks getting in.

Stay safe and have a great Wednesday everyone!

Weather Situation

A complex low pressure system off the central NSW coast is bringing gale-force winds and large powerful waves over the coastal waters today. The primary centre of the system is forecast to rebound northwards during today and heads off to the Tasman Sea while the secondary low centre brushes the southern half of the coast on Thursday, maintaining strong winds and large powerful surf. Winds and surf conditions are forecast to ease gradually later in the week as the system moves further offshore and it is followed by a large high pressure ridge moving across the state.
