Low energy on a pretty morning

0 2

Hello Friends,

A chilly blue-sky start to Monday along the beaches. Wind was coming lightly from the west and the swell was 0.7 metres at 8 seconds from the ESE. As you can see from the picture above, these numbers translate into near-flat conditions at Dee Why. I’d call it ankle to knee-high. So, a good day for getting caught up on your non-surfing interests and obligations.

It’s still looking as though we’ll have to wait until maybe Thursday for a slight uptick in swell energy levels as the periods stretch out a bit and swell at sea nudges the meter mark. This morning’s long-range swell forecast models aren’t looking too hopeful it has to be said. If they’re accurate, we’re facing a week or more of very small to near-flat surf conditions. Oh well.

Keep on smilin’ everybody and make a plan to drop by the Surfrider board swap & repair event on Sunday!
