Swell keeps on keeping on for Friday

0 7

Hello Friends,

More surf energy on a morning that had reached only 9 chilly degrees as of 0830. At that point the wind was still coming from the west at 9-13 kts, but the marine forecast tells us to expect the showers to arrive along with the wind swinging south. Swell was just shy of 2 metres at 10 seconds and coming from the SE. It looked very consistent when I grabbed the snaps and size was similar to yesterday’s* head-high to overhead on the sets. Tide was coming into the 1.33 metre high at 0940. Water was clean and 18 C.
As always, the Mighty Goat has rugged up and had a look at the surf portents for us. You’ll find his wise words here.

*I spent an hour or so between noon and 1-ish shooting the action at Dee Why. For those who were interested in seeing if I got their immortal stylings, I’ve got 1800 shots to winnow first, but I should be able to start posting them in the next couple of days.

Have a great day!

A trough is moving north along the coast of NSW this morning as a high pressure ridge lies over the land. This system will weaken and move offshore before several fronts brush the southern waters over the weekend and through to Monday.
