Sunny offshore Sunday

0 37

Hello Friends,

Good news, it’s still about the same size as yesterday afternoon, but the direction of the 1.8 metre 13-second period swell is a more surf-friendly ESE. The longer period has amped up the power and size of the sets too. Dee Why was seeing solidly overhead waves when I grabbed the snaps this morning (sorry that they’re a bit blurry).

Beginners need to be very cautious about getting involved but experienced riders are in for some fun.

The wind’s going pretty hard and the Bureau’s posted a strong wind warning for 20-30 kts of westerly by midday. It’s due to blow even harder tomorrow – which will not only make it challenging to surf, but will also dial the swell energy down to small. But on Tuesday a fresh south pulse in the 2-ish metre range should begin to make itself felt. Right now it looks as though the conditions could be good across the middle part of the week… so that’s not a bad thing!

Go well with your Sunday everyone.

Weather Situation

Fresh northwesterly winds across coastal NSW are being generated by a series of cold fronts expected to cross the coast during the weekend, extending out of a low pressure system which will move into the Tasman Sea during Monday. This system to continue to generate windy coastal conditions and slowly dissipate as a high pressure ridge being to influence the coast mid to late next week.
