Lines and lines but down from yesterday

0 23

Hello Friends,

Still some waves around this morning, but it’s down noticeably from yesterday. Surface conditions were comparatively smooth at 0700 when I grabbed the snaps. Wind was out of the west at just 6-7 kts. The MHL buoy was detecting 2 metres of 10-second energy from the ESE as of 0500. Water was clean and on 19C. Tide was coming into the slight 1.34 m high at noon.

Although there were head-high sets, so it’s not flat, nor suitable for beginners. But that said, the numbers in the water were not at typical weekend levels.

Outlook is for the energy levels to fall into the very small range by Monday-Tuesday. Today’s swell modeling shows another mid-week south pulse with a couple of days of messiness followed by fun, clean conditions for south swell spots at the end of the workweek.

Go well with your Saturday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge over New South Wales, bringing south to southwesterly winds to the coastal waters. Winds will turn easterly to northerly as the high moves eastwards and enters the Tasman Sea through the weekend. A series of fronts are forecast to cross the coastal waters from the south early next week, bringing fresh south to southwesterly winds in their wake.
