Another rest day for surfers

0 0

>Hello Friends,

As of 0830 it was raining steadily along the beaches. Out at sea the wind was blasting along at 20-30 kts from the ENE. The swell was 3 metres at 10 seconds from the NE.

Water quality is definitely going to be woofy. Late last night my phone pinged with news that the Warriewood outfall was receiving wet weather treatment – which means the treated sewerage is being mixed with untreated run-off before dumping into the sea.

I don’t fancy an eye, ear or throat infection myself, so no surfin’ for me until we’ve had a run of rain-free days and sunshine to clean things up.

If you’re wondering about the prospects for a wave, the Goat’s latest forecast dropped last night and as always, I commend its wisdom to you!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the south of the state, while a low lies off the Mid North Coast bringing fresh east to southeasterly winds to southern and central coastal waters. The low and an associated trough will contract southwards today. A series of cold fronts will then cross the coastal waters on the weekend into early next week, bringing generally westerly winds along the coast.
