Hello Friends,

It rained overnight, but there was a temporary reprieve from around 0800 and I was able to grab a couple of snaps from the crows nest. Swell at sea was pretty similar to yesterday, which is to say it was 1.4 metres at 10 seconds from the east as of 0830. Wind was WSW at 6-8 kts and those two combined were delivering small (waist-ish on sets) waves for the crowd of the keen assembled at the Dee Why end of the beach.

From here it looks as though we might have fun conditions through tomorrow morning and then the models show a burst of big south swell and heaps of powering onshores from Sunday to mid-week.

So enjoy while you can and have a great Friday!

Weather Situation

A combined trough and low pressure system off the north coast is extending a trough along the coast. Throughout today winds will tend southerly along the southern part of the coast, and northerly along the northern part of the coast as the low and trough moves offshore. On Saturday a cold front will bring a southerly surge of winds to the coast. Following this, winds will tend fresh to strong southeasterly along the southern part of the coast Sunday and Monday as the cold front develops into a coastal low.
