Tiny, tiny wavelets
Hello Friends,
There were clean knee-high little waves this morning at Dee Why thanks to a 7-10 kt NW’ly and a 0.8 metre 7-sec NE wind swell. Weather should be partly sunny but the already tiny waves are set to get even smaller.
Tomorrow we can expect the wind to go around to the southerly quarters and pick up while at the same time, the waves should bump up into the 2+ metre range. We’ll be seeing a return to the showery weather that dominated last month.
The swell models are showing a steady supply of 1.5-ish metre, 10-sih second period mainly east swell – along with light winds for the early sessions – well into next week.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system over New Zealand is extending a ridge to the state’s east, directing northerly winds along the southern and central parts of the coast. As the ridge moves away, a cold front and its associated trough are forecast to cross the south coast this afternoon, before heading north and crossing the remainder of the coast on Thursday, bringing a strong and gusty southerly wind change in their wake. These systems will be followed by a strong high pressure system drifting across the southeast of the continent later this week.
