Waves everywhere this morning
Hello Friends,
Go surfin’!
I know it’s Sunday and everyone’s in the water, but there are peaks everywhere and the lulls are long enough to make paddling out a breeze. Plus the better sets are pushing into the shoulder-plus range. And speaking of breezes, as this was being written the westerly was just 5-7 kts. Swell at sea was 1.4 metres from the SE at a healthy 14+ second period. The tidal swing is pretty small too. The low at 0830 was 0.57 m and the high is just 1.27 m at 1435.
The swell models show our swell energy levels weakening gradually as both heights and the average periods decrease. There should still be a few little ones around tomorrow and Tuesday as swell move around more to the east. Right now Wednesday is looking like being the smallest day. Thursday morning could see the arrival of a little south pulse. Unfortunately it’ll probably have a weak, sub-10 second period, so my excitement is muted.
Have yourself a great day!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system offshore is bringing light and variable winds to the southern coast and moderate to fresh southeasterly winds to the remainder of the coast. From tomorrow the high will move further east bringing north to northeasterly winds to the southern part of the coast and east to southeasterly winds to the northern part of the coast, before the next southerly change makes its way up the coast on Wednesday.
