Little waves and Democracy Sausages on the menu
Hello Friends,
At 0700 we had 7-10 kts on WNW wind and 1.8 metres of 10-second SE swell to play with. Skies were partly cloudy and it was around 12 C at daybreak. Tide was just off the 0.5 m low at 0725.
The better exposures were still seeing shoulder to head high wave faces on the sets and it looked to be reasonably consistent. Beginners should be able to find something at more sheltered locations, while experienced riders will enjoy the more open ones.
You’ll want to jump in sooner rather than later as the Bureau’s calling for the wind to swing SE.
With luck it’ll still be fun tomorrow morning, although the swell’s on the fade so sets aren’t likely to be the same as today. Beyond that it looks pretty quiet until late in the week when the energy levels may perk up into the fun range again.
Have yourself a great election day and remember to number every box on the House of Reps paper!
Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system over the south of the state is slowly drifting into the Tasman Sea, driving south to southeasterly winds. As the high moves further eastwards, winds will turn north to northeasterly by late this weekend. Then, winds will turn northwesterly early next week ahead of a southerly change crossing the coastal waters mid next week.
