The Goat’s Surf Forecast

0 0

Surf forecast issued Thursday 1 May 2025: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

What a few days – weather sunny one minute, pouring the next, sunny again.. bit like Queensland

Surf today was a mess at exposed places but out of the wind there were waves with lots of people – many retired so they found waves suitable to their ages.

The immediate weather outlook is for showers but the Low down south has moved away pretty quickly so conditions will start to improve, and the surf which is currently mostly suitable for the few.. fit, young, energetic etc will become more user friendly for the majority~~~ sort of natural democracy in action eh?

Friday: similar to today’s 2-2+ metres from South East

Saturday: easing into the upper end of the 1-2 metre range South East. maybe with leftover sets

Sunday: down a bit more say 1-1+ metres South East

Monday: around 1 metre or so give or take more or less Eastish

Tuesday: ditto

Wednesday: ditto East North East

Thursday:dittoish.

….

Election help!

Hardly seems necessary to remind people, don’t forget to vote…

And you don’t need to be encouraged: It’s your democratic right as an Aussie for everyone who’s eligible to have your say… and cop a fine if you don’t!

It’s hard to miss the kaleidoscope of coloured election material and pithy slogans around.

TG wonders: Do they think people will vote for whoever’s helpers have put up the most illegal advertising material – where no advertising of any kind is permitted?

With so many candidates to choose from, some have had to look beyond prime colours.

Apparently even helpers for one colour can have trouble distinguishing a normal coloured Surfing T shirt from an opponent’s coloured Political T shirt. TG was walking in a prime coloured Surfing T shirt opposite a polling station, stopped to help a man who’d fallen and was bleeding from his head.  The wearer of a Political T shirt of a different colouring rushed over to help his friend who’d fallen.

But in his apparent tunnel visioned T shirt-colour-conscious zeal, he straight armed TG out of the way! …without so much as a pardon my offensiveness.

It must be so hard to get good helpers.

So if you haven’t voted yet, you might want to consider what you wear near polling places! Maybe a multi coloured shirt??

Be kind to them all. Enjoy your rights and thank goodness for secret ballots, and compulsory voting.

The Australian Constitution sets out the powers of the Federal Parliament… Hence issues that Federal candidates, and voters, might want to focus their attention on>>>
