Nice waves, nice morning

0 0

Hello Friends,

Good news. The rain didn’t arrive before sunrise and this morning’s early shift enjoyed fun size chest-plus waves along with light westerly breezes to keep things clean. High tide was a swampy 1.78 m at 0640, so the 1.3 metre, 11-sec east swell was struggling a bit in that respect. With luck as the tide runs out, the rain’ll hold off and the wind won’t swing to the NE until lunch time.

The more hopeful swell modelling paints a picture of fun surf for the morning sessions through to around mid-week – but with showers. On Wednesday it looks as though we’ll get a south pulse into the 3 metre range. Unfortunately, the wind’ll be on top of it and the weather will be showery. Maybe by next weekend…

We’re set for a week of showery weather, so get out and get amongst it this morning if you can! Oh, and go vote!!

Weather Situation

A trough lies off the northern coastal waters, while high pressure system extends a ridge over the southern coastal waters. The trough is forecast to extend further south and deepen into a low as another trough crosses the coast during Sunday, driving a fresh and gusty southerly change. The low is expected to move further east on Monday, driving a fresh south to southwesterly flow.
