Messy but waves for the keen

0 1

Hello Friends,

Any hope of an early morning offshore breeze was dashed when the ESE stubbornly persisted at 10-15 kts through the early morning hours. And that means we start off with scrappy conditions everywhere. The Bureau tells us to expect the wind to keep coming from the easterly quarters all day. As you can see from the pics, we had fun size waves thanks to a mix of east and SE swell energy. Were it not for the wind…

The Goat should be along later today with his thoughts about the coming surf week, I don’t want to steal his thunder, but my quick take is that the models are not without their interesting features…

Go well everyone, and remember pre-polling voting centres are open between 0830 and 1730 between now and election day. I’m one of the folks doing how-to-vote card handing out for Dr Sophie Scamps and I can report that we weren’t seeing lines at Terry Hills. So, dropping by your nearest PPVC is a good way to discharge your democratic responsibility while also avoiding the usual voting day crush. Oh, and don’t forget to number every box.

Weather Situation

A low pressure trough lies off the New South Wales northern coast, whilst a high extends a ridge over the southern waters bringing fresh east to southeasterly winds. Winds will shift north to northeasterly later in the week as the trough decays and the ridge strengthens. A southerly change is expected to bring fresh and gusty winds to the southern half of the coast during the weekend.
