Swell filling in this morning

0 3

Hello Friends,

Been out and about this morning and watched the south swell arrive in force around 1030 while enjoy brekkie on the beachfront at Sea Change. Below, a few snaps from Dee Why and Collaroy.

Earlier this morning…

Another blustery and showery day ahead for us, but there are waves if you’re keen – but beware. By 0600 the MHL buoy was seeing 2.3 metres of swell at 10 seconds from the E-ENE along with some energy from the S by SSE. Wind was out of the SW at 16-20 kt as of 0830. As you can see below, the Bureau’s analysis tells us to expect that southerly component to take over from the E-ENE and build to 3-4 metres this morning. So, spend some time watching before jumping in.

And this is just the start. Tomorrow should see the swell getting into the 4-6 metre range as a 25-30 kt southerly smashes into the coast and the rain arrives at regular intervals.

But that’s not all. The Bureau’s advice this morning is to expect south swell in the 6-7 metre range on Tuesday morning along with 25-30 kts of SW wind for the early session. Needless to say, anywhere that may be surfable will be strictly for the pros. Should be some great surf watching opportunities and I imagine folks along the Collaroy-Narrabeen stretch will be sweating the midday high tide.

BTW, Sydney water released partially treated sewage at Warriewood yesterday and unsurprisingly, Beachwatch is warning the Pollution is Possible or likely pretty much everywhere.

Go well, be smart and stay safe!
