The Goat’s Surf Forecast

0 16

Surf forecast issued Thursday 27 March 2025: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Saw some guys sitting in flat water late today, and wondered why they were there, and then a few rideable, not too bad looking waves came through.

Currently around 1 metre with a 15 second period from due South.

Looks like a Low is expected to slide down from the inland up north and then slip out into the Tasman around the Far South Coast on Sunday, becoming an intense East Coast Low. These are a bit like TC’s (like a spinning top TC, only it’s not in tropical waters), so surf size, direction, etc expectations depend on the movement of the Low…OK??

Surf outlook is for small waves with onshores initially, then the BoM expects it to start becoming windy, from SW during Sunday.

TG says Blowey wind from the South for a few days should start to bring up some Southerly windblown waves at places open to the South.

Friday: around 1 ish metres give or take from South

Saturday: ditto, swinging with the wind Eastish, Nor East

Sunday: maybe a bit more from North Eastish at first… then, a dramatic headon Battle in Nature as the SW wind smacks face first into the NorEast breeze. TG doesn’t gamble (he only gambols) but if he did, his breakfast cereal would be on the SW wind to win~~~~~~~~~

Monday: wind blowing hard will make the surf uninteresting for surfing…Size? who knows? who will care??

Tuesday: could be large from South East, depending on the position of the Low and the direction of the wind/waves,,, 3-4 metres maybe??

Wednesday: around 2ish metres from South East, depending on Low

Thursday: 1-2 metres South East, ditto

Enjoy. Have Fun and Stay Safe.
