Messy conditions continue
Hello Friends,
There were a few sunny breaks when I grabbed this morning’s snap of the tempestuous conditions at Dee Why. There were a couple of stalwarts giving it a go at the point, but you’d have to be keen to jump into that confused mess. It looked awful.
Wind was coming from the NE at 7-10 kts and the Bureau tells us the Bluebottle winds will be with us for the next three days. So, it’s north corners for any hope of even slightly tidy conditions. Meanwhile the swell has dropped off significantly and as of 0600 Sunday morning the MHL buoy was detecting just 1.5 metres of 9 second energy from the NE. The Bureau’s modelling shows the energy levels bumbling about around the current intensity through Tuesday. Beyond that the GFS and ECMWF models are telling us to expect an extended run of meterish , 7-8 sec wind swell from the E to SE quarters. So not great, but maybe at least marginally surfable if you’re very keen. Meanwhile the weather should be showery today, rainy tomorrow and showery into Wednesday.
Waves, we await ye!
