Sunny and micro this morning
Hello Friends,
A beautiful morning along the beaches with a mild north breeze, sunny skies as we head to a high of 26 C. Swell has continued to fade. The MHL 0600 report was showing 0.9 metres of SSE swell at 11 seconds which, as you can see from the pic, was not producing any noticeable swell at Dee Why. If you can find anything above knee high today, I’d be surprised.
Outlook for the next few days is not great. The ECMWF model was predicting sub-1 metre swell heights and sub-8 second periods for the coming week, while the GFS was in agreement on the swell heights, it projects some tiny but long-period east component on Friday. However you cut it, the prospects are for a tiny to marginal week ahead. But things might get interesting as we get into the weekend…
Go well!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge to northeast New South Wales, and is directing east to northeasterly winds over most coastal areas. A trough will bring a southerly change to the south late today, continuing to central waters Monday morning before stalling and weakening near Seal Rocks. During Tuesday a new high is forecast to move from the Bight to the Tasman Sea, bringing a return to east to northeasterly winds by Wednesday. The next trough and southerly change look set to reach southern areas on Friday.
