Swell perking up

0 4

Hello Friends,

Noticeably more energy in the system this morning, and if you’re keen, you’ll get a wave. Wind was SW 9-15 kts and the 0600 MHL buoy was showing 2.8 metres at 9 seconds from just off dead south (186 degrees), so the main energy is pushing away from the coast. We’re seeing shoulder high sets at the better exposures, but mostly it’s smaller than that. So, yes there are waves, but no, it’s not all-time.

If you’re heading out for a wave, the next tide is a 1.6m high at 1130 and the wind will be S-SW and 20-30 kts under sunny skies. Water is a balmy 24 C.

The swell’s look like peaking overnight and then gradually fading a little into the new week. The wind’s supposed to be south tomorrow so probably not the greatest, but if the Bureau’s right, things could come together on Tuesday when the swell gets a little more east and the morning sees SW wind…

Have a great Sunday!

Weather Situation

Southerly airflow prevails in the wake of a trough which moves into southeast Queensland this afternoon. A low pressure system in the Tasman Sea is expected to intensify today, bringing another southerly surge bringing gusty conditions.
