Lotsa little waves everywhere

0 8

Hello Friends,

You can definitely catch a wave this morning. The energy is mainly coming from the ENE and because it’s 2.5 metres at sea with an 8 second period, wave faces on sets at the better exposures are into the shoulder high range. It wasn’t exactly clean and waves were tending to peak up briefly and then run out of puff after just a few seconds. When I grabbed the pictures around 0900, the wind was coming lightly from the NNE. Half an hour later it was still light, but it was southerly. The Bureau’s call is for southerly in the early afternoon, but I see that down south at Bellambi it’s been S-SE 10-15 kts for the last hour or so. So, into the south corners to hide from the wind if you’re leaving it until later to jump into that 24C water. Tide was low at 0840 and will be back to a moderate 1.35 m high at 1435. It should get up to 30 along the beaches and sun protection is needed until 1700.

From the shape of this morning’s swell modelling, there should be some sort of surfable stuff in the waist to chest range for the early sessions right through the weekend. So, that’s good.

Have a great Wednesday!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge into northeastern New South Wales, directing a northeasterly airstream along the coast. A trough has brought a southerly change to southern waters overnight, extending to central areas during Wednesday before stalling. The trough will slowly decay through Thursday as northeasterly winds become reestablished, before another trough and southerly change reach southern waters late Friday and central areas on Saturday.
