Still tiny and weak
Hello Friends,
Days of southerly wind have taken their toll. This morning it was SSE at 9-14 kts along the beaches by 0700. Swell at sea was close to dead south and 1.4 m at ll seconds. Inshore, it was maybe waist high on the bigger ones but despite the longer period out at sea, they looked closer together and therefore weaker. Another day of gutless dribble for the die-hards I’m afraid. Water’s nice though. It’s clean according to Beachwatch and currently around the 23 mark.
From the look of the swell models, the next few days are set to be similar to this morning’s offerings. Around midweek there could be a small improvement for the morning sessions as we head into the weekend. So instead of very marginal, we could be into the marginal zone. Beyond that the long range forecast models are currently showing no significant relief through to mid-month. Of course surf predictions two weeks out are highly speculative. So don’t feel too gloomy!
Go well with your Saturday everyone.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system will become established over the Tasman Sea during the weekend, maintaining a ridge along the coast, until a trough and southerly change arrive mid next week.
