This afternoon at Dee Why

0 55

Hello Friends,

A rather gloomy morning, but this afternoon warmed up and the sun broke through here and there. Alas, exactly in line with expectations, there were no waves to speak of along the beaches. Swell at sea was close to dead south and about 1.5 metres at up to 10 seconds apart. So, there might be the odd wave to be had at an optimal exposure… on the plus side, there wasn’t much wind and the water is a toasty 23 according to Beachwatch. The swell models remain dour, with the more optimistic interpretations of the data pointing to a possible NE pulse into the chest-ish range around next Thursday…

Go well!

Weather Situation

A trough along the north coast is heading towards Queensland today while a high pressure system off Gippsland Coast is drifting east towards Tasman Sea, directing onshore easterly winds. Winds will shift northerly and become fresh during the weekend as the high moves slowly over the central Tasman Sea. Then, a cold front and its associated trough are forecast to enter the south coast on Monday and continue heading north, reaching the north coast by Tuesday, bringing a fresh and gusty southerly wind change in its wake.
