The Goat’s Surf Forecast

0 1

Surf forecast issued Thursday 14 November 2024: Seven day outlook for Sydney

First, the Hindcast… How do you know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been?!

TG  thinks that’s very deep, and he’d like you all to think about it for a bit… tick tick tick… That’s enough!

There were some nice looking waves yesterday arvo for the, oh, about a hundred, kids out there. But although the surf today is bigger (1.93m, 9.77 sec, SSE) and more boisterous, from the belicose wind, which is making it belicooler than it should be, there’s only rubbishy messy stuff out there. So it’s attracting the attention of vastly smaller numbers. Mainly the excitable ones. The sensible ones are doing something else.

TG’s Forecast, for the Surf, is:

In short, it won’t appeal to everybody (why would it?). Judging from just a few early signs it looks like it’s not going to be pretty at times.  In fact, could be all over the place (but that’s not entirely unexpected). Daily conditions could be heavily subject to which way the wind’s blowing at a particular location.

Friday: easing back from this arvo’s size to around 1-1+ metres Eastish (with wind)

Saturday: ditto Eastish (with NE wind forecast at this stage)

Sunday: up a little in the 1-2 metre range through the day North East (NE/N wind forecast by the BoM currently)

Monday: starting to come up from the South around 2ish metres at places that get dead South swell (with messy wind)

Tuesday: around 1- 1+ metres dead South (and wind)

Wednesday: aroud 1 metre or so East South East

Thursday: ditto South East (aand windy)

If you want to try to keep up with what’s happening from day to day, and if you’re up for it, then get ready for the ride.

Otherwise, you might just be happier doing something else for a bit, with selective look sees from time to time..

Realistically speaking, you can’t do anything about it!

Nature can teach a lot…

Hey is that deep or what

Keep smiling

TG.
