There’s surf

0 3

Hello Friends,

A bright, partly cloudy sky over the beaches as the day got started. Surface conditions were comparatively clean and close to 2 metres of  liney 12-second period SSE swell was delivering the goods at optimal alignments. Wind was lightly offshore too, although the forecast tells us it’ll swing NE soon and pick up into the 15-20 kt range by around lunchtime. Tide bottomed out at 0715 and will be back to a modest 1.5 m high at 1400. The open stretches were seeing shoulder to head high sets, but the long line meant waves were shutting down more often than not. You’ll be looking for reefs in north corners for the best shot at a fun one I’d say.

There could be a few little ones left for us tomorrow and maybe Saturday, but we’ll have to see what the Mighty Goat thinks about the rest of the week. My quick take is that there could be a fresh pulse just around the time that your correspondent heads off to California etc for a couple of months. I’ll post from time to time as I’m there because, apart from anything else, the time difference means I can have a good look at the data before dawn’s rosy fingers brighten skies in dear old Sydney.

Have a great day everyone!
