Light wind and little waves for the early

0 0

Hello Friends,
Another morning with smooth surface conditions and waist plusses with the odd shoulder-ish set wave face at spots aligned to the NE swell direction. It was quite misty to start but that should give way to a partly cloudy day with maybe the odd passing shower.
If you found waves yesterday, I’d check that spot first as this morning is looking like being very similar if slightly bigger over all. Swell at sea as of 0600 was 1.6 metres from the NE at 9.5 seconds. Wind was coming faintly from the SW and the first tide of the day is a low at 0940. The tidal swing is less than a metre to the high at 1630. Wind should drift around to the south as the morning goes along and get into the 10-15 kt range. So, as usual, the plan is to hit it early if you can.
We’ll see what the Goat has to say, but my quick take from looking at the swell models is that tomorrow is likely to be smaller and Saturday could be in the tiny range. The GFS model was showing a 1.6 m, 9-second, south pulse arriving Sunday which then tails off gradually over the next few days before an influx of longer period south hits mid-week.
