Micro with rare sets

Hello Friends,

Only the most barely-there hint of a possible wave this morning. For the most part it’s all but flat, however the day break buoy data was showing a metre of straight south swell at around 15 seconds apart out at sea. So, that should mean the very occasional waistish plus wave face is possible at magnets. As of 0730 air temps were around 12 and the sea was a bracing 17. Wind was straight north at 9-14 kts, so surface conditions were well textured.

The swell models are continuing to predict flatness through Saturday, but then on Sunday they show rainy weather arriving and 3 to maybe 4 metre south swell filling in and lasting for some days. Importantly, the wind call is for SW’ly across the period in question.

We shall see!

Weather Situation

A large high pressure system centred in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over New South Wales, driving northerly winds across the region. Winds will shift west to southwesterly for a period during Friday as a cold front and its associated trough reach the NSW coastal waters. A second cold front during Saturday and Sunday will bring a stronger south to southwesterly wind surge along the NSW coast, persisting into the new week.
