Hello Friends,

After posting the first pictures (see below), I wandered back along the beaches, stopping at Curly to see if I could get a nice shot of the spray exploding at North Curl Curl headland. I liked this one for the mysterious profile (Poseidon?)  peering southward.

Conditions at Dee Why point were big so there was a lot of water moving around and it was difficult for the handful of riders to do much more than bounce down the lumpy faces, trying to beat out the sections.

Conditions at the point were lumpy and chaotic.
Big, but not the greatest quality – 0950

At 0720 this morning, the waverider buoy off Port Botany was registering 4.6-6.8 metres of 14.4 second SE swell. These are dangerous conditions for all beginners and most intermediates. Watch for a good 20 minutes before committing – and know your limits! Wind was coming from the WSW at 14-21 kts. Tide was running out to the 1025 low (it’ll be back to a 1.57 m high at 1700). Weather was partly cloudy and about 10 degrees. Showers are expected later and today’s high should be 17 C. Beachwatch was reporting “Pollution Unlikely” at Dee Why and the satellites were detecting a sea surface temp of 20 C.

I’m about to go out and take a few pictures, so check back in an hour or so.
