Swell’s here

0 5

Hello Friends,
Although the weather call is for cloudy and a 70% chance of showers, Thursday opened proceedings along the beaches with mostly sunny skies and 9-13 kts of westerly wind. Still-air temp was around 9 C at 0800, so with the wind, it was the coldest morning of 2024 thus far. Swell was 2.75 m at 9 seconds from the SE.
I stopped by the point a little before 0900 to grab some snaps and while the waves were occasionally head plus, it wasn’t as crazy big as the forecast suggested yesterday.
There was a reasonable wait for catchable ones, so the crowd density didn’t fluctuate much.
Swell seems to be fading and that’s opening up options along the beach.
Go well!

Weather Situation

A south to southwesterly airstream along the coast is expected to strengthen over the coming days, particularly during the weekend, and mostly about southern parts of the coast, as a complex low pressure system forms and deepens over the Tasman Sea, well offshore from the New South Wales coast.
