Saturday starts glassy
Hello friends,
You could definitely get a wave or two this morning at Dee Why. The weather was dull, but not raining and the WNW wind wasn’t yet texturing the 1.7 m, 8-second SE swell. Set waves looked to be in the chest-ish range along the beach and just squeaking into rideable range on sets at the point. It didn’t seem to be super consistent, but the waits shouldn’t be too long. Tide peaks at a modest 1.35 m at 0940. Low is 0.64 at 1505.
All and all, not bad for a Saturday morning.
The Bureau says the swell should push up across the day and tomorrow could be into the head high range on sets with offshore wind and sunny skies. And Monday should be fun again although a bit smaller. The GFS model projects that things will slow right down midweek, but Thursday morning could see us waking up to potentially overhead sets at south magnets (with offshore wind)…

Weather Situation
A trough and low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is expected to drift south and then east on the weekend, bringing fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds to southern and central waters. Winds will turn north to northwesterly and increase early next week ahead of the passage of a cold front later Tuesday or Wednesday.
