Some would call it flat

0 18

Hello Friends,

Yet another grey start to the day with a light SE breeze texturing the ocean and only the faintest hint of wave activity. Out at sea the waverider buoy off Kurnell was detecting 1.2 metres of 7 second period wind bump from the dead south at 0800. As you can see from the pictures, there’s nothing much going on at Dee Why, and given the numbers, I’d be surprised if it was significantly better anywhere else in the Sydney region.

As a glance at the latest BoM below reveals, we’re stuck with this for the next three days. The GFS and ECMWF swell models are currently predicting average swell periods to bounce around in the 6-9 second range for the next week.

The waves will be back of course and the models get it wrong all the time when it comes to the long range predictions, so who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky.

Go well!
