Grey and scrappy Saturday morning surf session
Hello Friends,
Overcast skies and a dribbly south breeze combined with an episodic 1.7 metre, 9-sec S-SSE swell greeted surfers this morning at Dee Why.
The waves were junky and the tide was coming into the high at 1215, but with a little application, you could kind of ride them. Not all time, pretty ordinary in fact, but hey, the water’s nice so why not?
The BoM tells us we’re in for a showery next three days, with light winds for the early sessions and more of the current low-intensity metre-ish, S-SE wind swell (ie, periods in the 6-8 second range). This pattern of sputtery surf looks likely to continue through the week according to the swell models. Weather should be sunny from Tuesday to Thursday, but another showery phase could kick in next Friday…
Anyway, have yourself a great weekend everyone!
Weather Situation
A low-pressure system lies off the southern New South Wales coast and is providing forcing for showers and southerly winds over far southern coastal waters. The low is expected to continue to move slowly to the southeast today with conditions continuing to ease. A trough and possible weak low is expected to affect southeastern parts of the state tonight and tomorrow with southerly winds strengthening again in the south early Sunday before a high pressure ridge develops over the state Monday with winds easing.
