Rain and ESE wind, so nup
Hello Friends,
Raining steadily this morning with 27mm in the gauge at RealSurf HQ between midnight and 0900. Wind at North Head has been ESE around 15-25 kts since yesterday evening, so the ocean will be a choppy mess. The MHL buoy was registering 2 metres of 6-sec SE wind bump.
The rain should slacken off to occasional showers by this time tomorrow, then it looks like cloudy to partly cloudy weather through to midweek. Unfortunately it also promises to be steadily onshore with only the barest hint of wave energy as swell remains around the metre mark and periods stay in the 6-8 second range.
Weather Situation
Northeast to southeasterly winds will persist along the New South Wales coast for the coming days as a high pressure system moves to the Tasman Sea and a trough lingers over the inland. Another, weaker, trough currently lies near coast and is forecast to weaken later Sunday or Monday, after which winds will tend northeasterly.
