SE, messy & tiny
Hello Friends,
Looking miss-able to me this morning at Dee Why. Wind’s been blowing SE since yesterday evening and although it was only 4-6 kts at 0700, the ocean was, as you can see, lumpy and messy looking. Swell at 0500 was 2 metres at 7 seconds and dead south. So, in addition to the junky surface conditions, there was very little wave energy. The wind and weak swell settings are set to last all day, and the outlook for tomorrow isn’t too much better, although the swell angle is set to go more SE. Maybe the early could see light winds and a bit of SE to east swell energy. Could be worth setting the alarm if you’re keen. The tide’s going to be filling in after 0515 too, so that might add some push. Beyond that, well, we should have the Goat’s wisdom to guide us after he drops his latest surf-thoughts bundle tomorrow afternoon.
Go well!
Weather Situation
Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds are prevailing across the NSW coastal waters today as a low pressure system over the Tasman Sea slowly moves east while a strong high pressure system drifts pushes into the Tasman Sea. Winds will gradually shift northerly by late in the week as the high moves east further across the Tasman Sea ahead of a cold front and its associated trough that look set to cross the coast at the end of the weekend.
