Little waves on tap for Wednesday morning
Hello Friends,
A nice sunny morning along the beaches with a faint NNE breeze barely texturing the ocean surface at 0730. Out at sea, the MHL buoy was detecting 1.3 metres of 9-second SSE swell at 0500. There were a few hopefuls chasing what looked to be knee to waist high sets along the rocks at the point. Size was better over at the beach, but the banks are non-existent, so long, unmakeable shutdowns were once again delivering unrelenting straighthanders. South magnets are your only option in any event. Tide was high at 0715 and will be back to low at 1300 on a day that should be partly cloudy and 24. Water’s still on 18.
Thursday, which had looked hopeful earlier in the week now seems less likely to be much of an improvement on today, but Friday still may come through for us as a combo south/NE regime takes over. The morning session might be fun with a mix of building swell, sunny skies and SW wind.
Have a great day everybody!
Weather Situation
A weakening low pressure trough is moving along the northern coast this evening accompanied by southerly winds. During late today and Thursday winds will tend northerly and then strengthen ahead of a cold front. This front is forecast to bring a vigorous south to southwesterly change to southern and central waters later Thursday and then weaken as it moves north on Friday. After this, a ridge of high pressure is forecast to develop.
