Still tiny on Tuesday morning

0 22

Hello Friends,

No surf at Dee Why as Tuesday kicks off under cloudy skies. The MHL buoy was detecting a 10-second, 0.9 m east swell at 0600, so better exposures should have a little something, but you should be happy to find a waist high peak. Tide was high at 0530 and will be back to low at 1100 on what should be a partly cloudy day with a high of 23. Wind was SW at 0730 and is expected to be SE around lunch time, but not getting much above 10-15 kts.

Tomorrow the Bureau tells us we should see a mix of one-metre south and east wind swell. The ECM model shows the east component at 11 sec and the south at just 6 sec, so I reckon it’ll be struggling to be much above today’s paltry offerings. Right now it looks like we might have a bit of an uptick in the south energy across the weekend, so here’s hoping!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge to the north coast while a trough in the far west is slowly moving northeast, bringing heat and unsettled weather conditions. A cooler southerly change is moving up the southern coast this morning, and both the coastal southerly change and the inland trough will continue to move north during the mid-week, easing the heat across the south and east. Then hot conditions will return during the latter part of the week with the development of hot northwesterly airstreams.
