US Olympic star Lindsey Vonn suffers gruesome jellyfish injury while out surfing in sea in horrific attack
RETIRED Olympian Lindsey Vonn has asked fans for help after suffering a jellyfish sting.
The ex-skier also showed a picture of the marks left by the animal on her Instagram Story on Tuesday.
Vonn, 38, posted a photo of the back of her leg with a big swollen red spot on her thigh.
“Any tips for getting stung by a massive jellyfish?” she captioned the post.
The 2010 Olympic gold medallist later documented how she tried one of the suggested remedies, soaking the wound in hot water.
Finally, Vonn shared a close-up of the red marks on her leg.
“How concerned should I be?” she asked, adding a fear emoji slider.
The jellyfish accident took place just over a month after she had surgery on her right knee.
Lindsey showed her stitched-up wounds and went through the details of the procedure in an Instagram video.
“Big reveal… how do the scars look?!” she asked in the caption.
“One week post surgery and they are a little raw but shaping up well! Need to cut the stitches soon…”
Vonn had surgery on the same knee in March 2022.
The former athlete then said she might need a knee replacement in the future due to the toll her career took on her body.
Injuries forced Vonn to retire in 2019.
In her 19-year pro career, she won the gold in downhill at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver and the bronze in both super-G and downhill eight years later in South Korea.
