Tiny and sunny Wednesday morning

Yesterday’s fading swell continued fading overnight and looks to have pretty much faded away to nothing this morning. It’s still around the metre mark out at sea but it’s SSE and the period has weakened to under 8 seconds. As the forecasts have been predicting for some time now, the outlook is for conditions to be near flat by tomorrow and probably not much above that level for Friday and Saturday. Happily, there could be a modest south pulse with periods into the 11-12 second range along with light morning wind conditions on Sunday-Monday.

Weather Situation
Winds will tend north to northeasterly today as a weak ridge of high pressure develops offshore and a cold front approaches from the west. Northerly winds are forecast to strengthen on Thursday, before shifting west to southwesterly as the cold front crosses the region on Friday. After this, southerly winds are likely to persist throughout the weekend.

- Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots becoming variable about 10 knots in the morning then becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 knots in the middle of the day. Winds reaching up to 25 knots offshore in the late evening.

- Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres by early evening.
- Swell
- Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre later in the evening.
