Little Monday morning waves
Hello Friends,
The swell continues to fade since the peak on Saturday and this morning’s 0600 report from the MHL buoy off Sydney showed 1.5 metres of 8 second SE energy. As of 0730 the wind was NW at 4-6 kts. The point was picking up the odd waist-ish high set and the beach looks to be similar. First tide of the daylight hours is the 1.67m high at 1125. The weather should be sunny today and the wind is set to go around to the NE and get into the 15-20 kt range by this afternoon.
From the look of the forecast, we can expect tomorrow to maybe be surfable for the early, with a declining SE component but an increasing (if small) E-NE wind swell. Wednesday is shaping to be marginal but not flat. For what it’s worth, the GFS model is currently showing an uptick in south energy for Saturday…
Have a great Monday everyone!
Weather Situation
A low pressure system sits over the eastern Tasman Sea while a ridge of high pressure lies off the coast. A cold front will reach the southern coastal waters by early Tuesday morning and will travel northward along the coast throughout the day. A high pressure system will replace the front late Tuesday into Wednesday, before another cold front crosses the coast late Thursday.
