Mostly micro but the odd set
Hello Friends,
A metre of 12-second swell from the SSE was delivering fun size sets into the chest plus range at the better exposures. But you will be waiting around for them to turn up, so don’t be misled as I was when I took the pictures this morning. It basically looked flat, but then a set turned up that had enough energy to wrap around the point.
Wind was out the WNW as of 0730 and skies were more blue than not. A gorgeous morning in other words.
The tide was low at 0530 and will be back to a moderate 1.46 high at 1155. We’re in for a high of 24 and the water’s on 19.
Tomorrow should see the south swell pick up again but it looks like you’ll want to hit it early because the call is for S-SE onshores in the afternoon, also the swell models are showing sub-10 second periods, so today’s long-period sets may no longer be in the mix (ie, it’ll be smaller and weaker). Thursday looks like ok swell size, but again, the period prediction is in the 7-8 second range, so we’re probably looking at waist high or so.
Have yourself a great Tuesday everyone!
Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea is directing a northerly airstream along the coast. Northerly winds are expected to increase today ahead of a cold front which will bring a south to southwesterly change to the south coast later in the day and the remainder of the coast during Wednesday. Another high should develop over the Tasman Sea in the wake of the front with southerly winds tending back to the north over the southern half of the coast on Thursday.
