Magnets are go
Hello Friends,
The set wave above was easily the best thing I saw in my drive from Manly to Dee Why this morning. For the most part, even the best exposures were not seeing sets much above the chest-high mark. And there was quite a wait for a catchable one. Wind was 7-9 kts from the west and swell was 1.2 metres at a shade under 8 seconds from the SE. Tide was low at 0700 and will be back to a moderate 1.4 m high at 1330. Weather should be sunny with a high of 18. Beachwatch rated water quality as Pollution Likely along the Manly stretch, Pollution Possible at Curly and clean at Dee Why.
Outlook is for waves to last at about the current level all day and tomorrow maybe to be a bit bigger as a similar size, but longer period south pulse fills in. From Thursday onward it currently looks as though we’re in for a decline to tiny to near-flat conditions that could persist into the middle of next week.
Go well one and all!
Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over southern Australia extends a ridge across the southern half of the coast while a coastal trough near the central Queensland coast is slowly weakening, directing fresh southerly airstreams along the coast. Southerly airstreams are forecast to weaken over the next few days and winds will become light and variable during the midweek as the high pressure centre moves across the southern districts through the first half of the week, then winds will become northerly on Thursday ahead of a cold front that looks set to cross the coast between Friday and Saturday.
