Pumping at Dee Why on Sunday morning

0 27

Hello Friends,

It was a morning for fit and experienced riders only at Dee Why point with set wave faces well overhead thanks to a 2-3 metre, 12-second period ESE swell. Wind was 8-10 kts from the west at 0800 and tide was coming into the high at 1155. Skies were mostly clear too, despite the Bureau saying there’s a 90% chance of showers along the coastal fringe. They’re also predicting that the wind will be southerly 20-30 kts, so I would not expect the current conditions to last long.

While the swell energy looks like sticking around through to Weds-Thrs, the wind call is for tomorrow and Tuesday to be southerly. Happily the current easterly tilt to the swell direction should open up a few protected corners. Oh yeah, ocean temp is a brisk (for Sydney) 17.

Go well everyone!

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure ridge is building over the southern half of the coast with a possible coastal trough developing along the far north coast later today. This set up will direct onshore moisture and strengthening winds along much of the NSW coast. From Monday, the ridge broadens and extend further north, generating light winds and settled conditions from midweek onwards.
