Choppy and messy Sunday morning

0 5

Hello Friends,

Overcast with a 90% chance of showers and SSW 8-15 kts at 0800 Sunday morning. There were waist plus high waves to be had, although the quality did not look great. Not surprising really when you look at the data from the waverider buoys which were detecting a 1.3 metre 10 sec period S-SSE swell overlayed with sub-5 sec period wind chop. The wind is set to be around to the SE before midday, so no real hope for improvement as the day goes along. Monday should see a little uptick in swell energy, but the wind’s set to be stiffly from the SE. The wind intensity should decrease on Tuesday, so maybe the early will be okay, but from here, I’d say Wednesday morning is currently shaping to be the pick day with clearing skies, early offshore breezes and fun size east wind swell to play with.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Weather Situation

A southerly change along the south coast is heading north, and this change will be reinforced by a low pressure system forming off the Mid North Coast on Sunday. Winds will further shift to southeasterly late Sunday into early new week as the low quickly moves offshore while a ridge of high pressure develops along the coast.
