The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Friday 16 December 2022: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Yeah TG’s a day late..

It is the Silly Season. And the Weather and TG are acting accordingly!

Today was Ridiculous at places open to the South, for those who don’t mind and are capable of paddling through washing machine white water, to sit in a howling gale and wait for messy low quality windblown waves.

Or, in protected corners. there were only Young-Kid Size waves.

Anyone else … well TG didn’t see them.

At 10 o’clock this morning (Friday) there were according to the Bureau, three East Coast Lows close together down south in the Tasman sending their hellos up to us.

They’re expected to move off over  a number of days, but it looks like the unsavorory wind, and waves, and wind, from them will be hanging around with us for a little while…

A bit like when TG has a sore tum tum, and strolls into and out of a room you’re sitting in….

The Bueeu’s description is … “This pattern will remain relatively unchanged for the next few days, directing vigorous southerly winds and a large southerly swell along the coast.”…

Vigorous…hmm. There’s a word you don’t hear every day on the street

It has a warning for large and powerful surf for Friday and Saturday.

TG thinks they mean: …’at places open to the South’, or ‘at South facing beaches.’ …..

Saturday:  Let’s say, in the 2-3 metre range at places open to South South East, with wind of course. A lot smaller elsewhere.

Sunday: Let’s say, Ditto

Monday: Let’s just say, same same, South East

Tuesday: somewhere in the 2 ish, 1-2 metre range South East

Wednesday: around 1-1+ metres East South East

Thursday: Ditto

Friday: Similar, from North East.

Stay well.

TG.
