Rain and more rain

0 23

Hello Friends,

Raining steadily as the crew stirred at RealSurf HQ this morning and the forecast tells us that the cloudy skies and occasional torrential downpours are on the cards for today and tomorrow at least. Wind at North Head was 18-23 kts from the ESE as of 0730 and out at sea, the MHL buoy was seeing 3.1 metres of 12 second energy from the south around to the east.
I did the Manly-Dee Why run this morning and saw only one insane person in the water. They were way out the back at south Steyne, hunting head high jumbled up junk waves in water the colour of choclate milk. Unsurprisingly, Beachwatch reports pollution is likely from Mona Vale south (and suss north from there).
Tomorrow’s looking like being more of the same and the prospects are that the trough won’t move away until Thursday.
Stay safe!

Weather Situation

A trough extends from central parts of the coast to the northeast and will remain slow-moving for the coming days. A vigorous low pressure system is forecast to develop within this trough between tonight and early Tuesday, strengthening southerly winds across the southern and central parts of the coast between Tuesday and Wednesday as it slowly moves southeastward, until it moves further offshore and is replaced by a ridge of high pressure from Thursday onward.
