Junk surfers only
Hello Friends,
Rough and ready morning along the beaches. Heaps more rain last night, and more to come, so the water is looking foul. 18-28 kts of southerly as of 1000 too. As the pictures show, it’s messy, lumpy and pretty big on the bomb sets (2x overhead) thanks to 3 metres of 12 second east swell. Add the seas in, and it’s 5 metres offshore. Not a day for sensible people to be doing anything ocean related.
Sadly, it seems as though these conditions aren’t going away for a few days yet. The Bureau’s warning that there’s the potential for an east coast low to form Monday night as the trough delivering the endless rain persists. This morning’s forecast is for rain through to Tuesday, then showery stuff right through to Saturday.
Stay safe folks!
Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure lies over central and northeastern parts of the State and will slowly move northeastwards today, bringing a southerly change to central and northern parts of the coast. This trough will linger near the coast by this evening and remain in the vicinity into the new week. A low pressure system is expected to develop within this trough, possibly intensifying to an East Coast Low Monday night or Tuesday, moving eastwards during the second half of the week.
