Showery, blown out and junky
Hello Friends,
It’s a day for things other than surfing. Not only that, it’s probably three days of foul weather as we get a taste of what our friends, family and fellow Australians have been going through up on the north coast and in SE Queensland. We could see anywhere from 100 to 200mm of rain in the next 48 hours according to the Bureau. Swell’s currently a couple of metres at 9 seconds from the east, but as the BoM marine forecast below warns, it’s going to get more dramatic soon.
Stay safe folks!
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure to the south and a trough near southeastern Queensland are generating showery easterly winds along the New South Wales coast. This trough deepens and moves south today, with a vigorous low pressure system developing within the trough as it heads towards the central or southern parts of the coast either late Tuesday or Wednesday. This will bring strong to gale force winds to the northern waters today, which will shift to the southern coast over the next couple of days. Waves may increase further on Wednesday with the development of the low within the trough.
