Good morning to have slept in
Hello Friends,
As expected, the SE wind blew all night and as the sun peeped over the horizon under a slab of grey cloud, it was still pushing along at 15-20 kts. As the pictures show, it wasn’t flat – the swell at sea is 2.8 metres at 11 seconds from the south – but it’s just as junky and unappetizing as you’d expect. There were a few hardy types in the water at Dee Why when I grabbed the snaps, but I didn’t see anyone actually catch a wave.
Looking at the swell models this morning, I’m not seeing much to get excited about for the coming week. The predictions are for short period, easterly stuff around the metre mark. I think it’ll be one of those weeks where you’ll be able to get a few little bumps in the first few hours of the day, before the onshores kick in. But quality will be strictly ordinary.
Have yourself a great Saturday everyone and catch you again tomorrow.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the eastern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast while a weakening trough is bringing a southerly change to the central and northern waters. South to southeasterly winds to the south of the trough are forecast to ease and turn northeasterly as another high pressure system reaches the Tasman Sea on the weekend. Another southerly change is expected early next week.
