Hot and tiny Sunday on the cards

0 8

Hello Friends,

Sunny with moderate north wind and a small 7-second NE wind bump at Dee Why this morning. Very few people in the water however because it would appear to be too weak and small to catch anything in the corner. Checking surfline’s cams, it look as though Curly is more rideable with some waist to chest plusses for the substantial crowd at the north end. Tide is a factor as well because it’s hitting at nearly 1.8m high at 0910. We’re set to hit 36C today, so I’m sure lots of us will be getting wet just to escape the heat.

Sad to say that COVID case counts are beginning to shoot up just like they have all over the world (9000 more in the last week). I don’t know about you, but I feel like the NSW government has put things on autopilot just as we’re flying into storm Omicron. I’m keeping the mask on around others and if I go to any Christmas parties, I’ll be doing a rapid antigen test first. Stay safe everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast. This ridge will be the dominant feature for the coming days as the high moves east. North to northeasterly winds have strengthened ahead of an approaching cold front. This front will bring a strong southwesterly change to southern waters late today and then weaken as it moves north on Monday.
