Thumping swell for Dee Why

0 6

Hello Friends,

Swell was still producing the odd 1.5x overhead set before 0900. It’s still raw looking though. But that said, the sectioning lumpiness of yesterday wasn’t quite as pronounced this morning. Wind was west at daybreak, but SSW at 5-10kts by 0900 and due to turn southerly this morning. Swell was 3.2 metres at sea, 11-12 sec apart and coming from 140° (SE). Tide hits the 0.7m low at 1110 and then comes in only a bit to the 1.36m high at 1710. Weather should be mostly sunny with a high of 24C. Apart from a question mark over Northy, Beachwatch says water is clean all along the Northern Beaches and ocean temp is on 21C.

Outlook is for the swell to fade, but with luck it should still be surfable tomorrow and maybe even Wednesday for the early. Beyond that the crystal ball gets hazy, but right now Thursday looks marginal, but Friday might bump up again into the waist plus range.

Go well one and all!
