SE’ly Sydney Saturday
Hello Friends,
I was hoping the swell pulse would beat the wind, but alas, the energy is still making its way up the coast, and the SSE’ly was 10-15kts by 0530. So, what we have to start the day is an unprepossessing knee to waist high line being knocked about by an increasing onshore. It’s 3 metres at 11 seconds from the south at Botany Bay, so I’m expecting the biggness to be with us on the Northern Beaches in the next hour or two.
Weather should be partly cloudy with a high of 20C today and the first tide of the daylight hours is a low at 1000.
While there could be the odd catchable one in the protected corners this weekend, the southerly winds will really limit your options.
The coming week is looking pretty quiet surfwise at this stage. Could be in the knee to waist range at open stretches, but right now, that’s about it. Today’s swell models show another modest south pulse for next weekend though.
Go well everyone and pack that mask!
Weather Situation
A low pressure system southeast of Tasmania is moving quickly away to the southeast. An associated southwest to southerly change moving north along the north coast will the Queensland border in the middle of the day. A high will move across southeast Australia in its wake, becoming established in the Tasman Sea on Monday.
