Hello Friends,

It rained overnight but Thursday morning was bright with 8-10 kts of north breeze and 1.4 m of 12-second SSE swell out at sea. As the pictures show, it was struggling to get anywhere close to a metre along the beach at Dee Why where only a few dedicated types were scrounging dribbly knee high lumps. Tide was low at 0825 and will be back to high at 1505 on a day when we may see the odd shower as we head to a high of 25C. Ocean’s still on 18C according to Beachwatch.

Outlook is for surf conditions to remain fairly uninteresting across the day. As for tomorrow and beyond, well, it’s Thursday so the Mighty Goat will be along later with his usual words of wisdom for our edification.

In the meantime, have yourself a safe and fun Thursday!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is combining with a trough over western New South Wales to bring increasing northerly winds for the coming days. This trough will linger over western parts of the state until late Friday or Saturday, when it finally reaches the Tasman Sea and will cause winds to shift south to southwesterly.
